First Day without a Soft Drink

Submitted by Hiram on Wednesday, 25 July 2007No Comment

The day is almost over and I’ve never wanted a soft drink more! Why is it that when you make any kind of resolution to improve your health, everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - conspires to get you to break it?

Still, I’ve been good. I substituted water for the soft drink I usually have with my lunch. I had some flavored water in the afternoon instead of my usual afternoon soda. Step by step I’m making progress.

I’ll occasionally post my progress. It took me forever to kick the caffeine habit (I thought Dr. Pepper’s were a food group) but I finally did it. This will be no different.

Like I’ve mentioned in my other blogs, implementing good health habits is a day-to-day process. Although my mouth is craving the feel of fiz, I actually feel proud of myself because my health improved today - even if it was just by a little bit.

And that’s how good habits are built - bit by bit.
